Elijah Favel: Second Place in L.A. NFTE

This summer, SEA celebrates the success of South Gate student Elijah Favel. Elijah recently placed second in the Greater Los Angeles region in the NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) Business Plan competition.

The NFTE program, which SEA has offered for the past five years, teaches young students how to start their own businesses. Students gain expertise in financial literacy, business, presentations, and personal skills. They then meet annually to present on their business plans and compete with students from other schools. Elijah’s business, “New Types,” is a service company that provides individualized computer tutoring in the homes of senior citizens or any other people who feel intimidated by technology.

NFTE’s judges were impressed by Elijah’s unique idea and his warm, easy-to-understand presentation. Following his impressive performance, Elijah will now travel to New York in October to compete with finalists from all over the United States.

SEA is thrilled for Elijah’s success, and we wish him the best in New York!
